The Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium is an annual one-day conference that brings together undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University who are involved in northern research. It provides an opportunity for students to present their research, network, and to broaden their knowledge of the polar regions. Students from any discipline are welcome, given that their research takes place to the north of the southern limit of discontinuous permafrost.

We are launching SISTER'S TALK podcast, and to celebrate this, the Afro-feminist symposium team is delighted to invite you to its first edition that has for theme : “Black women and Afrofeminisms”.

This first edition will present a short movie and three discussion panels (under political, academic and activist theme) with influential and inspiring black women who work every day to deconstruct the myths surrounding black women that are rooted in colonialism. Our 16 guests are coming from The United-States, Haiti and across Canada!

Dans le cadre du lancement du podcast SISTER'S TALK, L'équipe du symposium Afro Féministe est ravie de vous inviter à sa première édition qui aura pour thème « Femmes noires et Afro Féminismes ».

La Bibliothèque du Parlement est ancrée dans les traditions, mais elle est aussi de son temps, et les services qu’elle offre évoluent constamment. La bibliothécaire parlementaire, Mme Heather Lank, viendra discuter, avec deux autres membres de l’équipe de direction, de la manière dont la Bibliothèque aide le Parlement du Canada à faire son travail et de la contribution de son personnel dynamique et diversifié à la réalisation de son mandat.

Dans le monde hyper-accéléré dans lequel nous vivons, il est facile d'oublier certaines des composantes qui sont essentielles au maintien d'une bonne santé physique et mentale. L'entrée à l'université est une période synonyme de changements et de perturbation des habitudes de vie. Les jeunes qui poursuivent des études supérieures sont ainsi particulièrement à risque de voir leur santé affectée à divers degrés.

In the hyper accelerated world in which we live, it is easy to forget some of the basic physiological and mental components that we must maintain on a daily basis to feel and perform at our full potential. The beginning of university is a time synonymous with change, where life habits are often disrupted. These circumstances can have a deleterious effect on the health of young people who pursue post-secondary education.
