The Faculty of Education invites alumni, friends, and members of the University of Ottawa community to join us for the official inauguration of the Air Canada Professorship on Anti-Racism and the appointment of Professor Awad Ibrahim to the role.

This launch event will feature Professor Ibrahim’s presentation 'Thinking through the work of anti-racism: A poetic conversation expanding from arts to politics.'

Description: Researchers from the Centre for Educational Technology (CET), Oranim College of Education, and University of Ottawa's Faculty of Education discuss the why, what, and how to integrate S-T-E-A-M in teacher education programs and school curriculum with a focus on elementary school. This event is hosted by Olga Fellus, PhD, from the University of Ottawa, Yaniv Biton, PhD, Head of the Mathematics Department at CET, and Ruti Segal, PhD, Department Chair of the Master's program in Primary School Mathematics and Science at the Oranim College of Education.

Adaptation et résilience pendant une pandémie

Invitées:  Catherine Paquet, Directrice Bureau d’éthique et d’intégrité en recherche et Virginie Abat-Roy, étudiante au doctorat, Faculté d’éducation

Cette conversation sur la recherche portera sur l’adaptation des protocoles de recherche exigeant une interaction en présentiel aux contraintes de la pandémie actuelle. De nouvelles lignes directrices en matière de recherche seront présentées et suivies d’un exemple concret d’adaptation d’un projet de recherche à ces nouvelles exigences.

This Research Conversation will focus on adapting in-person research protocols to the constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. New university guidelines regarding campus access and in-person research activities will be presented, followed by a concrete example of how a research project was adapted to meet these new requirements.

We cordially invite you to the very first Research Lunch and Learn of the new academic year, which will be held this Friday from 1 pm to 2:30 pm on Teams. 

Our “Pitch Your Proposal” session will feature Insight Grant proposals that will be submitted to SSHRC this year. Each presentation will be commented on by a panel of successful SSHRC recipients, and former SSHRC committee members and reviewers from our Faculty. After the panel comments, there will be an open question and answer session.
