Post-truths propagated online diminish trust in science and digital communication of all sorts is leading to a narrowing of perspectives among individuals as well as governments which are focusing increasingly on national over global interests. Is our progress toward a global knowledge society in peril? What barriers exist to globalizing knowledge—old and new? And what are the benefits and risks associated with living in a global knowledge society?
