Wikipedia in the Middle Ages

Contrary to popular belief, the Middle Ages was not a dark period devoid of intellectual curiosity. As early as the 13th century, Europeans were articulating their desire for a coherent vision of the world through their first encyclopaedic efforts.

While today Wikipedia uses hypertext to articulate knowledge, what was the preferred method during the Middle Ages? Basing his lecture on two works from the University of Ottawa’s rare books collection, professor Charles Le Blanc will attempt to provide an answer to this question.
