As of April 1, 2015, employers must ensure that certain workers complete a working at heights training program that has been approved by the Chief Prevention Officer and delivered by an approved training provider before they can work at heights.
The training requirement is for workers on construction projects who use any of the following methods of fall protection:
L'atelier de premiers soins et de RCR standard (niveau C) est conçu pour les secouristes désignés de l’Université d’Ottawa. Le cours couvre les pratiques particulières de l’organisation ainsi que la réglementation obligatoire, tout en accordant suffisamment de temps à la pratique.
The uOttawa wilderness first-aid course is based on national guidelines. As such, it provides you with the knowledge and skills to manage wilderness emergencies during field work, research and other activities. Because the course revolves around providing first aid in remote locations, we recommend that all participants be certified first-aiders or have taken first-aid training in the recent past. The concepts resemble a standard first-aid course, but include more details about specialized areas like hypothermia, med-evac and wildlife hazards.
This standard first-aid and CPR (level C) course is designed for the University of Ottawa’s designated first-aiders. Specific organizational practices as well as applicable legislation are covered, with time also provided for practice. Cet atelier offre un résumé des sujets couverts dans l’atelier Sensibilisation à l’amiante et opérations de type 1, mais porte sur les opérations de type 2. L’atelier comprend surtout des activités pratiques et des scénarios liés à la construction d’une enceinte de type 2 pour entrer dans le vide de plafond et aux activités qui y sont menées.
Les participants doivent apporter leur propre équipement de protection respiratoire (appareil respiratoire), lequel doit avoir récemment subi un test d’adéquation.
