COMIR - Groupe de lecture /Reading group « Cafés classiques

The "Cafés Classiques", consist of a reading group on books that have become classics in the fields of migration and racism. The aim is to offer a space, in a spirit of conviviality, to revisit key authours in the light of theoretical advances and empirical realities of today. The reading groups- "Cafés classiques" follow a cycle of four sessions during the fall semester and are open to everyone.

Les courts-métrages portent sur le cheminement d’un immigrant au Québec, commençant par une longue période d’exil intérieur et extérieur et menant vers une acceptation progressive de sa double condition: celle de minoritaire, et simultanément, de potentiel complice face aux injustices subies par les autochtones.  /   Theses short films focus on an immigrant's journey in Quebec beginning's with a long period of internal and external exile that leads to a gradual acceptance of his dual condition: the one of being a minority, and simultaneously, being a potential accomplice with first nations

Les recours aux catégories ethniques pour étudier le racisme

Si les études sur le racisme qui mobilisent les notions de « race » se revendiquent toutes d’une approche en rupture avec le nationalisme méthodologique, dans les faits cette dissociation n’est pas si simple. Ce discours s’appuie en grande partie sur un impensé des perceptions plurielles des variantes du nationalisme méthodologique qui ne sauraient être limitées à un seul modèle.
