Abstract: Every scientist or engineer will, at some point, likely have to deal with IP issues, whether it be for their own IP or for that of others. Early recognition as an academic or entrepreneur of what IP one may have, or have to address, can provide new opportunities and/or preempt undesirable outcomes. In the first half of this session, I will cover some of the basics of IP, and red flags that may be triggered during the normal course of any scientific career. Any questions on IP in general or specifically? Just ask!

Title: Quantum Circuits and Quantum Faucets!

Abstract: I will discuss my quantum walk (hopefully not a random one!) and describe several experiments that are underway in my laboratory. These include the Hall *and* Faraday effect as being quantized; nanoscale electrical circuits acting fully quantum-mechanically; and last but not least the making of a quantum faucet for a real tangible fluid. It is a lot of quantum fun!
