CEED focuses on improving design, entrepreneurship education and the student experience at the Faculty of Engineering.

NEM Workshop - Intro

This first event will introduce our activities planned for National Engineering Month. It will continue through the month of March and it will be a "Build Your First Robot - Workshop". A presentation on the project, will show participants what they will be making. The "Running Robot" covers CAD, 3D printing, soldering and Arduino skills, as well as simple robotics. Our hope is to uncover the maker inside of everyone! This experience is both free and open to all. Come with lots of questions! Come to create the robot or come to learn the process of creating a robot.

Introduction à Arduino - LED

Cet atelier se concentre sur les bases de l'Arduino et du contrôle LED. L'atelier est utilisé pour familiariser les participants avec le matériel disponible pour les cartes et créer des logiciels pour les cartes microcontrôleur. Les participants travailleront à travers quelques exemples de codes afin de comprendre le codage de base. Introduction to Arduino + LEDs

This workshop focuses on the basics of Arduino and LED control. The workshop is used to familiarize participants with the hardware available for the boards and creating software for the microcontroller boards. Participants will work through some of the example codes in order to understand basic coding. If you have not already, please make an account on Makerepo.combefore coming to the workshop, and bring your student card! Arduinos, breadboards and computers can be provided.

Introduction à l'impression 3D - Spécial Saint-Valentin

Dans cet atelier, vous apprendrez les bases de la conception et de l'impression 3D des objets. Vous apprendrez à utiliser un logiciel de conception 3D de base [TinkerCAD] pour créer un objet personnalisé suivi d'un tutoriel étape par étape sur la façon d'imprimer votre objet en 3D. Introduction to 3D Printing - Valentine's Themed

In this workshop, you will learn the basics on how to design and 3D print objects. You will learn how to use basic 3D design software [TinkerCAD] to create a personalized object then followed by a step by step tutorial on how to 3D print your object. This workshop is offered in English and French. Please bring your laptops to this workshop to follow along with the activity. Internet connection required.

For Valentine's Day, we have a special walkthrough on how to create a "Valentine's Keychain". You are free to customize the shape and text how you'd like!

Introduction to Finishing Prints

Vous êtes-vous déjà demandé quoi faire de votre impression maintenant que c'est fait? Cet atelier est pour les personnes qui désirent quelque chose de plus qu'une impression d'une seule couleur. C'est pour tous les niveaux de créateurs et fabricants de 3D! Nous passerons en revue différentes techniques d'impression et de post-impression pour que vous obteniez les meilleures impressions possibles (avec un minimum de temps) et que vos impressions rendent les gens jaloux! Nous fournirons la peinture et les pinceaux et la colle, mais n'hésitez pas à apporter des matériaux supplémentaires!

Introduction to Finishing Prints

Ever wondered what to do with your print now that it's done? This workshop is for people who desire something more than a one coloured print. It is for all levels of 3D printers and makers! We will be going over different printing and post-printing techniques to ensure that you get the best prints possible (in the least amount of time) and that your prints make people jealous! We will be supplying the paint and brushes and glue, but feel free to bring in any extra materials! PLEASE BRING AN ALREADY COMPLETED 3D PRINT TO THE WORKSHOP.

Compétition concepts en entrepreneuriat

La Compétition des concepts en entrepreneuriat permet aux étudiants de présenter leurs plans d’affaires novateurs à un jury de membres de la communauté d’Ottawa. Les étudiants doivent préparer un plan d’affaires avec du soutien et conseil des experts. Ensuite, ils présentent leur plan et ont la possibilité de gagner 5 000 $ pour la première place, 3 000 $ pour la deuxième place, et 2 000 $ pour la troisième place.

Entrepreneurship Concepts Competition

The Entrepreneurship Concepts Competition lets students present their innovative business plans to a panel of judges from the Ottawa community. Students are required to prepare a business plan with the support and guidance of experts. Then, they present their plan for the chance to win $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place, and $2,000 for third place.

On February 15, come watch your classmates share their business plans to a panel of experts!
