CEED focuses on improving design, entrepreneurship education and the student experience at the Faculty of Engineering.

VARTM Workshop

During this workshop, attendees will learn about the theory behind manufacturing composite parts, as well as safety procedures to follow when doing so. The workshop is hands-on, with attendees learning how to manipulate fibers and successfully infuse them with the VARTM technique. Attendees can return after the workshop to take out of the mold, trim and bring their project home with them!

Open to University of Ottawa students only. Please note that the 10$ fee is simply a deposit. Your deposit will be refunded in cash when you attend the workshop.

Atelier de Nappage à la Main

Durant l'atelier, les participants apprendront comment fabriquer des pièces en matériaux composites ainsi que les précautions à prendre durant la fabrication. Les participants apprendront comment manipuler les fibres et les infuser avec de la résine en utilisant la technique de nappage à la main. Plusieurs infusions seront faites et les pièces résultantes pourront être mises ensemble. Les participants pourront revenir après l'atelier pour démouler, découper, assembler leurs pièces et partir chez eux avec le produit fini!

Wet-Layup Workshop

During this workshop, attendees will learn about the theory behind manufacturing composite parts, as well as safety procedures to follow when doing so. The workshop is hands-on, with attendees learning how to manipulate fibers and successfully infuse them with the wet-layup technique. Infusions will be done to form multiple shapes, which will form an assembly. The attendees can come back after the workshop to take out of the mold, cut, assemble their project and bring it home!

Design Day Fall 2018 edition

Design Day promises to amaze you with the creativity and ingenuity of our students!
