1) Explore the added  difficulty of identifying and supporting the struggling learner in the pandemic affected clinical setting

2) identify the areas where gaining complete competencies may be most challenging in  the different programs

How to identify and mitigate unconscious bias

Course description: 
Participants will become familiar with the many types of unconscious bias that affect their every-day decisions, and their medical and research careers.  They will be able to test their own biases, as a first step to identifying and eliminating them, and will recognize biases when they occur.  Scenarios involving unconscious bias will be presented, and discussed.

Wilderness First Aid (III)

The uOttawa wilderness first-aid course is based on national guidelines. As such, it provides you with the knowledge and skills to manage wilderness emergencies during field work, research and other activities. Because the course revolves around providing first aid in remote locations, we recommend that all participants be certified first-aiders or have taken first-aid training in the recent past. The concepts resemble a standard first-aid course, but include more details about specialized areas like hypothermia, med-evac and wildlife hazards.
