Marleau Lecture Series

We estimate the slope of the Phillips curve in the cross section of U.S. states using newly constructed state-level price indexes for non-tradeable goods back to 1978. Our estimates indicate that the Phillips curve is very flat and was very flat even during the early 1980s. We estimate only a modest decline in the slope of the Phillips curve since the 1980s. We use a multi-region model to infer the slope of the aggregate Phillips curve from our regional estimates.

Our Word Is a Story, Our Story Is a Truth

Violence against Indigenous women and girls is not the result of an isolated event. Sadly, this is the daily life of too many human beings, many of the most vulnerable in this country. We must recognize the extraordinary resilience of Indigenous women and girls, who have always worked to defend their rights and chart their course for the future. At this conference, I will present ways in which we claim our power and our place, especially in academia. How do we make room for the stories of Indigenous women and girls in teaching and research?
