Project members, and particularly project managers, are measured by their ability to accomplish goals. Those goals are met, more often than not, by reasoning, persuading and inspiring others to share a vision and pursue a common purpose.
Monitoring and controlling a project is the proactive way to find issues ahead of time in order to take corrective action. In this workshop we will cover the how-to of collecting measures of project performance, analyzing them to forecast the need for corrective action, disseminating performance information, and managing the change across one or multiple projects. Using realistic project scenarios, you will apply the monitoring techniques and learn to make informed and fact-based decisions derived from project controls.
Project governance focuses on making sure the project management systems are effectively supporting the organization’s mandate and strategies. Simply put, project governance refers to the decision-making structures, checkpoints, roles and associated responsibilities that direct the oversight of projects in an organization. The right projects are initiated at the right time, while the risks to a project and to the organization are actively minimized.

Most activities in business today have to be approached as a project. You will learn how a project is planned, managed and closed using the tools and techniques aligned with the best practices outlined in the Project Management Institute’s (PMI)® Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).
