This Master's of Science combines economics, science, law and policy to provide graduates with the skills they need to create effective policy solutions to today’s complex environmental sustainability problems.
Over the course of 3 hours, we will engage in a series of short lectures and in-class activities which will cover key elements in thesis writing (such as the articulation of your topic, conducting a literature search, acceptable formats, etc.) and the evaluation process, including the typical thesis defense and establishing reasonable expectations (such as timely feedback and conflict resolutions) for all concerned. Although a completed or partial draft of your thesis is not required, participants may be asked at some point to briefly articulate and defend their study in this workshop as a

Cet atelier propose un survol des principaux programmes de financement Fédéraux (Conseil de Recherche en Science Naturelle et Génie (CRSNG). Conseil de Recherche en Sciences Humaines du Canada (CRSH) et les Instituts de recherche en Santé du Canada (IRSC)) de la Recherche au Canada dans les trois disciplines. Cet atelier présentera un survol des programmes principaux de financement de ‘projet de recherche’, critères d’admissibilité, critères d’évaluation, processus de demande et d’approbation.
Cet atelier couvre le cycle de vie d’un projet de recherche. Cet atelier porte entre autre sur la création et rédaction d’un projet de recherche, ses principales composantes, la méthodologie (selon la discipline), etc. et l’identification de sources de financement possible. Cet atelier portera aussi sur les transformations nécessaires à apporter aux projets selon le programme de financement sélectionné afin d’augmenter les chances de succès lors des demandes de financement.
Cet atelier offre aux participants un survol des principaux programmes Fédéraux (IRSC, CRSH, CRSNG) de bourses de niveau Postdoctorales et de maitrise dans les trois principales disciplines en recherche (Santé/Science de la Santé, Arts, Sciences Sociales et Sciences Pures et Appliqués). Cet atelier couvrira les critères d’éligibilité clés, le processus de rédaction d’une demande et ses composantes, processus et critères d’évaluation, le processus d’approbation, et de soumission.
This workshop will provide participants with an overview of the major training awards program at the Federal Level (CIHR, SSHRC ,NSERC) in each of the major research disciplines ( Health and Medicine, Arts/ Social Sciences and Pure and applied Science) at the Master and Postdoctoral level. The workshop will review and discuss eligibility criteria, proposal writing and submission process, evaluation criteria and process, and approbation.
