La Compétition d’idée entrepreneuriale a pour principal objectif de promouvoir l’entrepreneuriat auprès de la population étudiante de premier cycle et des cycles supérieurs en génie et en informatique. Tout étudiant qui a une idée pour une entreprise et qui veut présenter son idée à un jury pour recevoir leurs commentaires, et possiblement des prix en argent, peut s’inscrire.

The objective of the Entrepreneurial Idea Competition is to raise awareness and interest in entrepreneurship among engineering and computer science students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Any student who has an idea for a start-up company and would like to pitch it to a panel of judges to receive feedback and potential prize money may register.

The winner of first place will be awarded $2,000, second place $1,000, and third place $500. Best of all, your fellow students get to vote for your idea!

Le Makerspace a ouvert ses portes en septembre 2014, et se concentrait sur l’impression 3D et la technologie Arduino.

Plus de 1000 personnes ont utilisé le Makerspace dans sa première année, avec une forte communauté d’utilisateurs réguliers tous les dimanches. Il est rapidement devenu trop grand pour son espace et avait besoin de croître en grandeur et en capacité!

Cet été, le Makerspace a déménagé à CBY B109A.

The Makerspace opened its doors in September 2014, with a focus on 3D printing and Arduino.

During its first year, the Makerspace attracted over a 1000 users and a strong community base on Sundays. It quickly outgrew the space and needed to expand both in size and in capabilities!

Over the summer, the Makerspace has moved to CBY B 109A.

Ten students have been working hard to expand the Makerspace capabilities to include a number of new technologies such as virtual reality, Internet of things, and wearables, among other platforms. 

The University of Ottawa Makerspace offers FREE workshops for students and staff of the University as well as members of the general public. These workshops introduces participants to equipment available in the uOttawa Makerspace. Participants will be taught how to safely use the equipment and how to design with the software packages for the Makerspace equipment.
