MTC - CFF Welding Safety and Basic MIG

The Welding safety and Basic MIG training offered by CEED is the first step in getting access to the Welding area in the Brunsfield Center. In this training, attendees will learn the basic safety rules of the welding area and learn the basics of the MIG welding process as well as various tools used within the welding area.

The Basic Mill training offered by CEED is the first step in getting access to the Mills inside the Brunsfield Center. In this training attendees will learn how to use the basic operations of the milling machine safely and effectively.

Please note that due to poor attendance of ticket holders a deposit is now required with the purchase of a ticket. This deposit will be refunded to the attendee upon arrival at the event.

Attendees are required to do the following in order to participate to this event

- Bring closed shoes (steel toes are not mandatory but recommended)

Introduction to 3D Scanning Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn how to operate the NextEngine 3D scanner located in the Makerspace. You will learn how to set up a piece for optimal scanning, as well as how to configure the software in order to achieve the best results. 3D scanners are very effective in the field of reverse engineering and can open up your design possibilities. Please note that this workshop is a demonstration as the scanner takes a fair amount of time to complete scans, therefore we will only be covering its operation.

CAD Modeling Basics (Fusion 360)

Have you ever wanted to learn how to use CAD software? We are offering a workshop that will cover the basics of sketch-based modeling using Fusion 360. We will cover how to create sketches and then extrude them. Other topics that will be covered include the sketch dimension tool, fillets, etc. Possessing these skills can help you create more complex and intricate 3D prints and prototypes.

Introduction to Embroidery and Sewing

In this workshop, you will learn how to set up and use the Makerspace embroidery and sewing machines! We will also show you how to make designs on the PE design X software. You can embroider either a sample fabric or a piece of clothing you bring in. All are welcome, no experience needed.

PCB Design Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of electronic components and how to implement them in a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) using PCB design software. You will learn how to make you very own PCB board using Circuit Maker. This course is meant for students that have no prior knowledge in electronics and PCB design. Internet connection, and circuit maker (free online) required.

Download the software prior to the workshop on own laptop. Laptops can be provided but low quantities.
