The Office of the Vice-Dean, Research is pleased to announce the launch of a new monthly series: Research Connections. This series is intended to be an opportunity for colleagues to share, with a short presentation as a starting point for questions or discussions between panelists and participants. Each third Tuesday of the month will be devoted to a specific topic.

The topic for January: Media Relations.

As a researcher, your knowledge and experience qualify you as an expert in your field. Your research projects and their results are fascinating, relevant, and deserve to be known. So how do you connect with media? How do you effectively communicate your research in the media? We've invite two panelists who can provide tips and advice.

Our first panelist is Paul Logothetis, Media Relations Officer at uOttawa and a seasoned journalist. He will explain the benefits of media work and the resources available at uOttawa. Our second panelist is Maïka Sondarjee, professor at the School of International Development and Global Studies (SDIGS), co-founder of Femmes expertes (the French-language component of Informed Opinions) and recipient of the 2021 Talent Award (SSHRC Impact Awards). She will share her experience connecting with media as a researcher and will help guide you in your approach.

Come meet the panelists and ask them your questions!
