Our Word Is a Story, Our Story Is a Truth
Violence against Indigenous women and girls is not the result of an isolated event. Sadly, this is the daily life of too many human beings, many of the most vulnerable in this country. We must recognize the extraordinary resilience of Indigenous women and girls, who have always worked to defend their rights and chart their course for the future. At this conference, I will present ways in which we claim our power and our place, especially in academia. How do we make room for the stories of Indigenous women and girls in teaching and research? How to get involved in order to ensure their safety, while recognizing the effects of the wrongs that have been committed against them? The status quo is over, let's build a better future together, based on the wealth that each of the communities that make it up.
