Black Curation: A Guest Curator Lecture Series
CAM/MAC presents Black Curation: A Guest Curator Lecture Series! Come join us this semester for a lecture series with Black curators discussing Black representation in museums and the curatorial domain. This month’s guest lecturer will be founder of Black Space Winnipeg and curator Alexa Joy, with her presentation “White Walls.” The lecture will discuss the topic of eurocentrism in the Canadian art world. Through her experience as a Winnipeg-based curator, Joy will give insight on curation in the Prairies and explore how art spaces may be conceived in the future, if inclusion is prioritized. The presentation in English will be followed by a discussion and Q&A in French and English, hosted by student Delilah Edouard Williams with professor Meg Stalcup. The event will take place: Wednesday, February 24th, from 4:30PM-6PM. For an RSVP registration, please visit the event page. For questions concerning the event or the series please send an email to uottawaanthro@gmail.com. Hope to see you there!
Presentations will be in French or English, followed by discussion and Q&A in both languages.
