Christian Milette, a uOttawa alumnus  and Team Canada triathlete and duathlete, will describe his experiences and discuss the concept of “the comfort zone”: a space in which we feel comfortable, whether it relates to what we know, what we experience, or our daily routines. This comfort zone brings us security and well-being until the day when everything changes. Are we ready to face the “discomfort”? How do we go further, push past our comfort zone, and adapt?

Bio: Christian Milette graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in communications and public policy before furthering his studies in Europe and then returning to earn an MBA at uOttawa. He is a Canadian triathlete and duathlete whose sport has taken him across the globe. Today, he passes on his knowledge and experience to young Team Canada hopefuls at the world championships. He has also travelled across the country and internationally for the past 22 years as a video journalist for Radio-Canada television. He has spent over a decade as an outdoor life and adventure columnist who aims to help people discover what he affectionately calls “underground” tourism, a concept that eventually led him to run the most northerly marathon on the planet, on Somerset Island in Canada’s North, and to the top of Kilimanjaro in Africa as the first video journalist to provide live conversations and images during the ascent.
