As Canadians, we have been hesitant to explore how racism works as a driver of social and health inequities. Using the Black community and anti-Black racism as a case example, Dr. Nnorom will discuss how racism impacts people's health. Promising practices for addressing systemic racism in academic settings and healthcare will also be reviewed.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify crucial resources required to promote equity, diversity and inclusion
- Identify organizational changes needed to promote excellence through diversity and inclusion
- Identify and promote organizational drivers of inclusion in the workplace
