What is linked data, where does it come from, and how can it help Humanities researchers? 

Linked data’s unique value is its ability to return information not explicitly stated in, but rather inferred from, aggregated data sets and the relationships between data points. Linked data not only provides researchers with context, but also empowers computers to infer new solutions and answers that are emergent in the data. The first workshop will introduce the world of linked data, demystify its underlying structures, and manipulate it on the Web. The second workshop will and show how we can use our Humanities knowledge and training to make linked data for others to use.
