Tips for staying human as a #modern faculty member: individual and organizational tools for wellness 

 

Course description: 

In this interactive half-day workshop we will identify key organizational and individual factors relating to burnout and identify strategies to adapt to and overcome these challenges. The emphasis will be on group discussion and learning, reflective exercises and behavioral analysis and goals. Participants will learn and use practical tools to help support health and wellness. Topics will include brief mindfulness techniques, promising organizational interventions for wellness, opportunities for culture change and how to support a colleague in distress. 


Learning objectives:

At the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Describe the individual and organizational drivers of wellness and burnout
  • Gain personal insight and practical tools to support your wellness as a faculty member. 
  • Learn how to recognize and support a colleague in distress
