CRECS is pleased to invite you to Professor Kabini Sanga's seminar titled "Straddling Worlds: Storying Pacific educators as leaders in time and of context".

For Pacific Islands/Oceania educators as mentors, daily life (including paid work) is about straddling diverse and often completing worlds including ontological, axiological, epistemological, methodological and others. For these mentors, being leaderful in time and place includes intentional gap-creation and diligent gap-bridging in diverse, multiple and moving settings. In this storying seminar, I share the experiences of Pacific Islands educators as straddlers of worlds based on my convener/initiator/founder/mentor role in a number of societal, education and leadership reform Movements in Oceania (in the period 2000-2019). From this story, I hope to share tentative (particularly) methodological insights relating to leaderful gap creation and –bridging in contexts which are divergent and complex. Intended to encourage leaders, this seminar will be run as a conversation between attendees and the presenter.
