Course Description

Essentials for Academic Leadership is a series of 5 workshops aimed at providing clinicians and non-clinicians with tools to successfully lead and manage teams.

Participants will develop an understanding and skills of how to:

  • Lead a process rather than manage it
  • Manage various types of team members effectively and deal with conflict
  • Get the most out of team members and keep them motivated
  • Introduce and manage change

Participants will also be apprised of legal implications and emerging trends as it relates to managing team members. Completion of the program will be acknowledged by a certificate in leadership from the Office of Continuing Professional Development. The program is accredited for RCPCS MOC and CFPC MainPro credits.
