This talk will focus on Robert Henry’s research with Indigenous men and women who were involved in street gangs. Through modified photovoice methods, Robert examines the ways in which Indigenous men and women engage in street lifestyles, where the street gang becomes a site of survivance challenging settler colonialism. Linkages between Canada, Aotearoa/New Zealand, and Australia will also be examined to understand how settler colonialism impacts Indigenous street gang involvement.
