Ottawa Book Launch and Public Panel: The Roots of Culture, the Power of Art

At this event, Professor Monica Gattinger, Director of the Institute for Science, Society and Policy at the University of Ottawa, will launch her new book, 'The Roots of Culture, the Power of Art: The First Sixty Years of the Canada Council for the Arts' (McGill-Queen's University Press, 2017).

The event will begin with a brief presentation of the book by Professor Gattinger. This will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Gattinger with arts and academic leaders. Together, they will explore the past, present and future of arts and academic research funding, state roles in the arts, and the evolution of arts institutions.
