cordially invite you to a public lecture, in English, entitled

Belarus: 25 facts about the country

(Belarusian Series, 2)

by Dmitry Basik,

Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Belarus in Canada

On April 15, 2017, Belarus and Canada marked the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Continuing its Belarus Lectures Series, the University of Ottawa will host Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Belarus in Canada, Dmitry Basik. He will present twenty-five interesting facts about the country: it co-founded the United Nations; it was the birthplace of Wayne Gretzky's father and of Tadeusz Kościuszko, regarded as a national hero in Poland, Lithuania and the USA; and, last but not least, it is the country that has produced the biggest mining truck in the world.
