ARC is an exhibition showcasing the work of thirty-four emerging artists reunited in the context of the University of Ottawa Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program. The exhibition is the product of a vast accumulation of effort and experimentation taking place in the studios of the department’s four-storey building, which from April 21st to the 24th, is transformed into a gallery space. Within the context of this graduating class, the exhibition marks the final chapter of an academic journey, and the beginning of an artistic career.

Consisting of works created by a wide range of backgrounds, the exhibition unveils artists that have different interests and perceptions, and whose practices are led by a variety of approaches and mediums: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, multimedia, installation, and performance. Each artist presents work created within the final year in the program, the refined result of four years of growth and development, exploration and experimentation.  This exhibition is not about a climax, but a sustained vigor that begins here.

Join us on Friday, April 21st from 7 to 10pm at the University of Ottawa Visual Arts Department, 100 Laurier Ave. E, to celebrate project the final chapter of an academic journey, and the preface to an artistic career!
