Population is a great topic for teaching interdisciplinary and relevant lessons for all grade levels. This workshop is designed to give education students classroom activities and strategies for teaching about population growth and related social, environmental, and economic issues. The demonstrated activities will be tailored to meet Grades 4-10 science curriculum outcomes and would cover topics related to: resource use and distribution, habitats and urban sprawl, waste production, carrying capacity, climate change and more. Workshops are hands-on, interactive, and fun! Each participant will receive a CD which includes lesson plans, student readings, case studies, infographics and more.
