For the first time ever, a University of Ottawa research team will carry out an experiment on humans on board the International Space Station. MARROW is short for the project titled "Bone Marrow Adipose Reaction: Red or White?" The study focuses on the biology of rehabilitation, in particular, on the impact of long-term microgravity exposure on bone marrow content and activity.
Faculty of Science professor Odette Laneuville from the Bone and Joint Laboratory at the University of Ottawa, leads this study, in collaboration with NASA and the Canadian Space Agency, which is funding the project.
A light lunch will be served.
