A native of Rosaireville, a New Brunswick village with a population of 40 or so, Lisa LeBlanc began writing songs as a teen. As a newly-minted graduate of the École nationale de la chanson in Granby, LeBlanc won the Festival Internationale de la chanson there in 2010, taking home most of the awards. The media duly noted her intensity, energy, joie de vivre, charisma and authenticity.

Leblanc’s career got off to a great start. Her first album came out in 2012 and sold over 80,000 copies, and she played a ton of shows in the most popular venues in Canada, France and Belgium. Her subsequent EP, Highways, Heartaches and Time Well Wasted, reconfirmed her striking creativity.
