Community Life Service

For those who are a bit more adventurous, you can sign up to spend the night under the stars in a tipi on FSS Terrace (January 19, 20 or 21). This is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience and is definitely something to add to your bucket list! Note that space is limited so sign up for a chance to win your spot!

Community Life Service has been hosting the Night in a Tipi for the last nine years. We have hired the same host since 2008 to talk about indigenous culture, the history of the tipi and the First Nations Community.  Again this year as he has in the past, our host is inviting members of the First Nations Community to participate in this event, sharing stories about indigenous culture and answering any questions the students may have.

Sign up  in person at the Carrefour francophone (UCU 026). Please note that a $ 25 deposit is required to secure your participation. The deposit is given back to the student the night of the event.

The night includes:
  • Storyteller on-site
  • 1 breakfast at the new Dining Hall
  • Hot chocolate
  • Outdoor equipment
