Power Cycle Theory in International Relations

One of the most influential American commentators on Canada-U.S. relations, Professor Carles F. Doran is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of International Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University, where he also serves as director of both the Global Theory and History and the Canadian Studies programs.

Professor Doran has agreed to present the academic conference Power Cycle Theory in International Relations on Wednesday May 3, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vanier Hall, room VNR 5070.

You are invited to attend a conference during which the students of the advanced quantitative methods course (SOC7140), winter 2017 cohort, will present the results of their research projects. Topics ranging from factors that contribute to minority identities, the situation of immigrants in the Ontario labour market, entrepreneurial intentions in developing countries, and factors that may explain the possible move towards the extreme political right in Europe, will be presented and discussed. The conference will be held on the 26th of April from 8:30 to 12:30 in Vanier 3075.
