Introduction to Arduino

This workshop focuses on the basics of Arduino. The workshop is used to familiarize participants with the hardware available for the boards and creating software for the microcontroller boards. Participants will work through some of the example codes in order to understand basic coding. If you have not already, please make an account on Makerepo.com before coming to the workshop, and bring your student card! Arduinos, breadboards and computers can be provided.

Introduction à la réalité virtuelle

Dans cet atelier, vous apprendrez les bases de la réalité virtuelle (VR). Les participants seront exposés à différents programmes de développement gratuits et disponibles via Steam. Il y aura une démonstration qui mène à travers le processus de conception d'un environnement VR. Cet atelier montrera également aux étudiants les bases du codage, et les bons domaines pour chercher de l'aide avec la conception VR. L'accent sera mis sur le développement de la réalité virtuelle à utiliser avec le HTC Vive, que les participants pourront utiliser à la fin de l'atelier.

Introduction to Virtual Reality

In this workshop you will learn the basics of Virtual Reality (VR). Participants will be exposed to different development programs which are free and available through Steam. There will be a demonstration which leads through the process of designing a VR environment. This workshop will also show students the basics to coding, and good areas to look for help with VR design. The focus will be on developing VR for use with the HTC Vive, which participants will be able to use at the end of the workshop. This workshop is offered in English.

Halloween Costume and Decoration Design Party

12 MORE DAYS UNTIL HALLOWEEN! This is Makerspace's 2017 Halloween preparation night. Come in and design and build your costumes. Get help with designing custom 3D printed costume pieces, sewing and gluing! This is an event for beginner and expert cosplayers, and everyone in between! We will be providing some materials on a first-come-first-serve basis (eg. paint, glitter, string, fabric etc.). There will be some pre-designed Halloween decorations available for printing or laser cutting such as pumpkins and themed signs.
